On August 3, 2016, I launched my very first Writers Who Run (or Walk) Retreat. Sixteen other writers joined me in the mountains of western North Carolina for 5 days and 4 nights. It was the most amazing and love-filled week of my life. Next year's event, and all future retreat dates, will be held the third week of June. Join us!
"Christie's attention to detail was truly exquisite. She also imbued every moment of the retreat with loving heart energy and passion. I could tell that she was passionate about her writing and her enthusiasm was contagious. Writers Who Run retreat not only started me off on a running habit, but also opened new horizons in writing. My approach to and the way I view writing have completely changed through the retreat. I learned so much about plotting, how to write the opening chapter, how to develop characters, how to maintain the reader's interest and how to slim down my writing. The retreat also created a wonderful, supportive and lasting community of fellow writers and faculty. There was not a dull moment and I will always cherish the so many first times I experienced in the retreat: first time showing my writing to other people and getting critiqued, first time making a journal, and first time running 10K." - LJ from Santa Fe
